The movie will star Chris Pratt as Star-Lord; Zoe Saldana as Gamora; Dave Bautista (SPECTRE, The Man with the Iron Fists) as Drax; Karen Gillan (Oculus) as Nebula; Vin Diesel (xXx, Furious 7) as the voice of Groot; Bradley Cooper (Joy, American Sniper) as the voice of Rocket; Michael Rooker (Slither, Jumper) as Yondu; and Sean Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy, “Gilmore Girls”) as Kraglin. Other new cast members include Pom Klementieff as Mantis, Elizabeth Debicki (The Great Gatsby, Everest), Chris Sullivan (“The Knick,” The Drop) and Kurt Russell (The Hateful Eight, Furious 7) as Ego.
Set to the all-new sonic backdrop of Awesome Mixtape #2, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team’s adventures as they unravel the mystery of Peter Quill’s true parentage.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is produced by Marvel Studios’ president, Kevin Feige, with Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Jonathan Schwartz, Nik Korda and Stan Lee serving as executive producers. Look for it to hit the big screen May 5, 2017.
What’s interesting about this teaser is that they are calling it a “sneak peek” and not a full fledge teaser trailer, which begs the question, is this the actual teaser trailer or is there going to be another teaser trailer coming out around the time Doctor Strange comes out? I mean, I don’t know, we’ll just have to wait and see but regardless, this still looks pretty damn awesome.
Everything that made the first movie so great seems to be returning in this movie and thensome. The visuals in this look as spectacular as they did before and even look more advanced seeing as this is coming out after Doctor Strange, which looks to test the advances of visual effects and impressive landscapes and Marvel very well may bring that same aspect into this movie as well, which it looks like they are doing.
The only real downside to this teaser mostly comes from the fact that it is a sequel and 9 times out of 10, sequels don’t usually live up to the caliber of the original movie and the first Guardians Of The Galaxy is such a great, great movie, it’s going to be incredibly hard to top that film but if any company can find a way to make something that wouldn’t work usually actually work, it’s Marvel.
Despite that pedigree, this is still a pretty fun looking teaser trailer, not much more to say about since it’s only 90 seconds worth of footage available but so far, it looks promising enough and if it’s good, it’s gonna kick off next summer really nicely.
