Talking Simpsons #427: Pranksta Rap

Pranksta Rap, the 9th episode of season 16 and the 344th overall, was first broadcasted on February 13, 2005 with a script by Matt Selman and directed by Mike B. Anderson.

Bart fakes his own kidnapping to get out of being punished for going to a rap concert, but the ruse goes too far when Milhouse’s father is implicated as the kidnapper and Chief Wiggum sees this as an opportunity to make a name for himself as a competent police officer.

50 Cent guest stars in this episode as himself and as far as the episode goes, it’s very much a fine episode. Not a whole lot of laughs but the laughs that do strike, strike really solidly. The overall story is kind of predictable and generic and it tries too hard to be too hip to “the kids” with some of the rap references they make.

Again, it’s an okay episode, not quite bad but not quite good either, just kind of run of the mill in the middle, a very mixed bag of an episode to say the least.
