Talking Simpsons #433: The Seven-Beer Snitch

The Seven-Beer Snitch, the 14th episode of season 16 and the 349th overall, was first broadcasted on April 3, 2005 with a script by Bill Odenkirk and directed by Matthew Nastuk.

After Shelbyville accuses Springfield of being hicks, Marge convinces the townspeople to fund a Frank Gehry-designed concert hall, which is then converted to a prison when the concert hall goes bankrupt on opening night. Meanwhile, Bart and Lisa investigate Snowball II’s recent weight gain. Frank Gehry guest stars as himself in this episode as does the late Charles Napier and Joe Mantegna back as Fat Tony.

Once again, another episode this season that doesn’t really go anywhere, a lot of the jokes are pretty predictable and have no real significant impact, the script doesn’t come together very well, the subplots don’t mesh together well either, a lot of the potential setups never deliver the promise. Another episode that never gets off the ground running this one is.
