stateofthereviewingnetwork

Welcome to the latest State of The Reviewing Network for the first month of 2017, let’s begin as we usually do by looking at what’s coming up this month:

TATM: TALKIN’ ABOUT THE MOVIES

This month will begin with another installment of The Year In Movies with 1994 plus new reviews for The Lego Batman Movie, John Wick Chapter Two, & Fist Fight, and my predictions for the 89th Annual Academy Awards.

THE MAGICAL WORLD OF DISNEY

More looks at the Pixar releases including Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Cars, & Ratatouille.

THE REVIEWING NETWORK LIVE

This month, we’re watching Super Bowl LI and the 89th Annual Academy Awards live and also, we’ll be watching Horrible Bosses and The Wolverine.

MY TAKE ON…

This month, we’ll get to some topics I didn’t get to in January such as if Disney actually ruined Doug, how stupid Hollywood thinks we are, why we keep making stupid movies, and why I hate Batman V Superman so much because apparently, me consistently talking about why I hated it last year wasn’t enough, this month you will get the final straight forward reasons why I do not like Batman V Superman at all.

MOVIES IN MY COLLECTION

This month, we take a look at the Netflix Aziz Ansari series, Masters Of None, do an updated list of my top 10 favorite sequels, and two new In Defense Of… for a couple of family movies that are actually not that bad, the 2007 Alvin & The Chipmunks movie and Yogi Bear.

ARROW & THE FLASH

More new episodes of Arrow & The Flash coming up this month.

TV SHOWCASE

This month, the 11th episode of Veep, the 27th episode of Mad Men, the 7th episode of Halt & Catch Fire, and the 28th episode of Girls.

THE TALK ABOUT NOTHING

More of season seven in the month of February including classic episodes such as The Soup Nazi and The Hot Tub.

THE TV WEEKLY

We wrap up our salute to the NFL with a look at the 10 best Super Bowls, a new Salute To Broadcast Network Campaigns looking at UPN, the top 10 most underrated TV theme songs, and 2017’s early winners and losers.

TALKING SIMPSONS

More of season 17 gets reviews plus there will be two new episodes to look at on February 12th and 19th.

DO YOU REMEMBER?

This month, we look back at Carmen Sandiego, take a look at the stupid age of reality television that led us to our current situation today, we also look at Fraggle Rock: The Animated Series, and finally, Duckman.

WHO’S THE BETTER FRANCHISE?

At some point this month, the newest battle will be between both Seinfeld & Louie, which show is the true great show about nothing? Find out later on this month.

ACTORS’ SPOTLIGHT

This month, we spotlight the careers of Keanu Reeves, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Tom Cruise, & Meg Ryan.

THE MUSIC ROOM

February 27th will see the latest installment of Musical Spotlight this time looking at the Spice Girls.

THE REVIEWING NETWORK’S FAVORITE MOVIES

This month, more of my favorite movies including Jackie Brown, Batman Begins, Lethal Weapon, & Pulp Fiction.

MORE TO SAY

Finally getting around to Sing and Hidden Figures after I said I would look at them last month but also, we’ll be looking at the underrated Jon Stewart directed feature, Rosewater, and Deepwater Horizon.

BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES EPISODIC REVIEWS STARTING ON APRIL 1ST

2017 will be the 25th anniversary of the series that started it all, Batman: The Animated Series.

My original plan was to have it be a month long event for DC-Ember 2017 but I figure that I’ll save that for something else for now.

I had originally planned for this to start up on New Years Day BUT now, we’ll gonna start doing those episodic reviews starting on Saturday April 1st, we’ll be taking a look at every Batman: The Animated Series episode, all 85 episodes with an episode being reviewed every day for 85 days in 2017.

If successful, I’ll also think about looking into episodic reviews for the other Bruce Timm produced animated series, Superman: The Animated Series, Batman Beyond, and Justice League if the demand is there.

SPORTS & DREAM CAST COMING SOON AS WEEKLY POSTS

As I talked about last month, I’m thinking ahead to future weekly posts and I have two that I know I’m willing to move ahead with.

One is a sports themed post for around the big sporting events like the Stanley Cup, the NBA Finals, the World Series, and the 2017 NFL & NBA seasons. The other is Dream Cast where I take an upcoming project and establish my own personal cast for the project chosen.

Expect to hear more about those coming up in the next few months, those two may end up being the new posts for the fall at the most.

THE UNTITLED BETTER CALL SAUL POSTING RETURNS ON MONDAY APRIL 10TH

Since AMC made the announcement last month about when Better Call Saul returns, I should make the announcement as well that The Untitled Better Call Saul Posting will be returning to cover the third season starting on Monday April 10th.

TOP 30 MOVIE SCENES COMING UP THIS SUMMER

Anybody who’s been following my site since the beginning knows that I like to do something big for the summer, two years ago it was my favorite movies, last year it was my worst movies of all time, this year, I’m making it official, I’m going to do my top 30 favorite movie scenes of all time.

As with every year, it will be the summer replacement for The TV Weekly and I’ll start putting those out beginning on Memorial Day weekend, May 26th.

With that said, that’s going to wrap up the State Of The Reviewing Network for the month of January. Be sure to check back on Wednesday March 1st for the State Of The Reviewing Network for the month of February.
