The Following Preview… #73: Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2

All right, everybody, here we go, Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 has released its’ brand new trailer and let’s take a look and see if we’ve got something big coming for the movie I’m most looking forward to for 2017:

Before we talk about the trailer, I just have to show you this awesomeness right here:

I love this so much, this is how you make a friggin’ poster for a movie, I mean just look at this, not only does it look like something right out of Drew Struzan but there’s a lot of Marvel’s traditional poster style to it and also a little homage to Star Trek Beyond and Star Trek: The Motion Picture too, the poster gives you every single thing you would expect for a poster for a Guardians Of The Galaxy sequel.

And then there’s the trailer and…oh sweet mother of god, is it glorious.

Not only are we seeing a lot of why we loved the first movie but they are upping the ante in terms of the action, the characters, the comedy, and the visual look.

The movie looks incredible, there’s more attention to detail on the effects and the visual appearance of the film, it looks incredible, it’s like they took a lot of inspiration from Doctor Strange and said, “okay, we need to bring that element into Guardians” and so far, it shows.

The comedy is moving in the right direction too, we don’t get as many Baby Groot moments in this as you would hope but there’s still a lot of good funny moments in this, when Rocket calls the Sovereign people conceited douchebags, I laughed so hard for just how Bradley Cooper delivers that line.

The action looks like some good fun over the top action and the first glimpse at Kurt Russell playing Peter’s father, you can look at these two and think to yourself…okay, I can definitely see the resemblance.

Honestly, there’s not much else to say about this new trailer except that it just looks like so much fun. I’ve had my worries that the sequel for this is going to be extremely hard to try to top such a great movie like the first Guardians was but after seeing the most recent set of trailers, I’m pumped, after Lego Batman and Logan, this is easily the most anticipated movie of 2017 and so far, it looks like it’s delivering on every promise a good sequel should do.
