Flo, the 9th episode of season 3 and the 29th overall episode, was first broadcasted on March 2, 2014 with a script by Bruce Eric Kaplan and directed by Richard Shepherd.
Hannah learns that her maternal grandmother Flo (June Squibb) is dying of pneumonia back in Michigan. While comforting her mother and her two aunts, she witnesses them squabble over petty matters. Hannah also unsuccessfully tries to bond with her uptight cousin, med school student Rebecca (Sarah Steele), and is forced to contemplate her future with Adam when her mother asks her to tell Flo that she is engaged to be married. At the end, although Flo recovers from the pneumonia, she dies of a heart attack as soon as Hannah returns to New York.
An overall pretty solid episode with some great acting, really funny comedy, some nice dramatic moments, and the episode overall is just enjoyable to watch.
