Batman: The Animated Series 25th Anniversary #39: Heart Of Steel, Part 2

Heart Of Steel, Part 2 was first broadcasted on November 17, 1992 with a script by Brynne Stephens and directed by Kevin Alteri.

Batman manages to free himself from the Batcave’s clutches, and brings it back under his control, although he fails to track Duane down. Barbara Gordon approaches Batman to inform him of her father’s sudden change in behavior. A brutal fight between Batman and Detective Bullock ensues, during which Batman pushes Bullock onto the Bat Signal, and reveals him to actually be an android, meaning that the real Bullock and James Gordon have gone missing, and Batman knows who the culprit is: H.A.R.D.A.C.

Of all the two parters, this is one of the more consistently entertaining ones, seeing Batman facing off against these robots and going up against this supercomputer, it’s about as awesome and intense as you can expect it to be.

Unlike most of the two parters, this one keeps the same animation studio as the first part and thankfully, that helps to bridge the two episodes better than having two different animation styles like in other two parters.

The action is intense, the animation is once again great, the fight scenes are impressive and exciting to watch and the overall story flows very well. Part 2 of Heart Of Steel is a good conclusion to one of the few really good two parter episodes.
