Off Balance was first broadcasted on November 23, 1992 with a script by Len Wein and directed by Kevin Alteri.
While following Count Vertigo’s trail, Batman encounters Talia, daughter of the head of the Society of Shadows, who was sent by her father to prevent the capture of a sonic drill that the Count stole. But after his identity is mistakenly revealed to Talia, Batman remains off-balance as to where her true loyalties lie.
This is one of those episodes that I personally don’t really like, mostly because of how off the animation looks. I mean, it just looks so, no pun intended, off like this animation is not something you’d be used to seeing on Batman: The Animated Series but more on X-Men.
But on the positive side, it’s interesting to see the Society Of Shadows and Talia and Ra’s Al Guhl being introduced into the series as they’ll play bigger roles in future episodes and then eventually in the Nolan Batman movies so it is kind of cool to see these characters come to life.
Other than that, I really did not like this episode a whole lot, there really was not that much to enjoy about it except for the introduction of Talia and Ra’s Al Guhl but other than that, this is just kind of a dull episode.
