His Silicon Soul was first broadcasted on November 20, 1992 with a script by Marty Isenberg and Robert N. Skir and directed by Boyd Kirkland.

When a Batman impersonator appears in Gotham City, the real Batman deduces that Karl Rossum is somehow involved and confronts the inventor. The other Batman, a duplicate, then shows up and a battle between the two takes place. After the duplicate Batman escapes, it begins its campaign to recreate H.A.R.D.A.C.’s goals of a robotic society.

This is about as close as you’re ever going to get to an animated Batman vs. The Terminator story because let’s be fair, that’s pretty much what this is and for what it is, it’s pretty friggin’ awesome.

It’s cool to watch two Batmans literally going after each other and it leads to some really nice fighting sequences all throughout the episode.

The animation overall is very good and if there’s only one downfall to this episode, it’s that the motivations for the villain is not really that well thought out, he’s just trying to do what H.A.R.D.A.C did in the Heart Of Steel episodes and that makes sense because the duplicate Batman is basically a remnant of the original H.A.R.D.A.C. program.

But overall, His Silicon Soul is a really fun episode where you get to see two Batmans go head to head in an epic showdown that’s more than worth the watch.
