Read My Lips was first broadcasted on May 10, 1993 with a script by Joe Lansdale and a story by Alan Burnett & Michael Reeves and directed by Boyd Kirkland.

A brand-new gang has made its debut committing the slickest crimes ever, thanks to the gang leader, Scarface. It’s up to Batman to stop Scarface and his “dummy”, the Ventriloquist.

The concept of this episode is really awesome, a ventriloquist dummy who runs a crime gang and has a mind of his own, how can you take that concept and ruin it? Well, in this episode’s case, it doesn’t.

The episode is such a great intense half hour with George Dzunda giving a great chilling dual role as both the Ventriloquist and Scarface:

The animation on this episode alone is really good and the action is nicely done, Read My Lips is a really good episode bringing this obscure villain into the spotlight and thankfully, this won’t be the last time he’ll show up in the series at least in the next incarnation of this show he will.
