Because the world was obviously clamoring for The Fox & The Hound 2…..wink wink.
The Fox and the Hound 2 is a 2006 American animated direct-to-video comedy-drama film produced by DisneyToon Studios, and a followup to the 1981 Disney animated film The Fox and the Hound. The film was directed by Jim Kammerud and released on December 12, 2006. The story of the film takes place during the youth of Tod and Copper, in which Copper is tempted to join a band of singing stray dogs. The film features the voices of Reba McEntire and Patrick Swayze. The film had an official soundtrack album released on November 21, 2006.
If there was ever a movie that completely defines a really bad direct-to-video Disney sequel, Fox & The Hound 2 is definitely that. I mean, just…..wow, this was bad.
Aside from nice animation, this is about as bad as you would think it is.
The story is completely and utterly pointless, it has absolutely nothing to do with the original and just has a plot that’s been done to death and has no heart or intensity to it like the original Fox & The Hound did.
Unlike Bambi II, which did a really good job of emulating the original’s heart and spirit, this movie just forces a bland storyline with lackluster characters added and there’s just nothing here.
Like why is there more country music being thrown in here, because we’ve got Reba McEntire and Patrick Swayze? That’s really what you’re reducing their roles too here?
This is just a completely pointless movie that only has one real purpose for its’ existence, to make Disney money, you slap Disney’s name and they think it will sell. And some suckers probably got bought into this garbage.
That’s basically what Fox & The Hound 2 is, garbage, hot hot garbage, it’s a pointless sequel to a movie that did not a sequel, would you expect anything else from a bad direct-to-video Disney sequel? I didn’t think so.
