DC-Ember #139: Superman: The Animated Series #18: Livewire

Livewire was first broadcasted on September 13, 1997 and was written by Evan Dorkin & Sarah Dyer and directed by Curt Geda.

Leslie Willis (voiced by Lori Petty), an obnoxious shock jock and notorious critic of Superman, holds a rock concert during a thunderstorm. When lightning strikes Willis, she is discolored and transformed into the electric-powered supervillainess Livewire. Superman must discover her weakness before she sucks the city dry of electricity.

Once again, really great casting by the series by getting Lori Petty to play Livewire, her energy for this role definitely shows here and she’s a ton of fun to watch in this episode, kind of unfortunate that she only appears in one more episode and in the Batman episode too because I kind of wanted to see more of her in the series.

As far as the episode itself goes, it’s really good, it’s got a lot of good animation and nice action and a fun villain to watch Superman go up against, it’s a really solid episode all around.
