He’s A Family Guy #332: Petey IV

Petey IV was first broadcasted on November 19, 2017 with a script by Anthony Biasucci and directed by Mike Kim.

Vladimir Putin visits Quahog after Peter writes an email to him complaining about the ending to a Russian bootleg version of Rocky IV, where Ivan Drago wins the final fight. Meanwhile, in light of moving out, Brian gets a job at a suicide hotline center to obtain some money to pay the rent to Lou Spinazola, where he falls for his co-worker, Martha (voiced by Kristen Bell). He takes drastic measures when she rejects him.

Here’s another one of those episodes that just doesn’t really flow well with me, they did a couple of these episodes where they take polarizing figures and tried to make an episode around them, something they had done in the past with OJ Simpson and Rush Limbaugh to decent success but now we’re bringing in Vladimir Putin and later Donald Trump and the humor factor isn’t the same. The jokes aren’t as biting or as satirical as they can be and they’re just kind of generic jokes to make about Putin in this one, there’s no cleverness to the humor or story and the one off jokes to kind of keep up the pace just aren’t there.

And as much as talked shit about Brian’s arc these episodes had…..I will admit the story they gave him in this isn’t too bad.

Other than that, this is a pretty dull episode overall.
