Talking Simpsons #679: Warrin’ Priests, Part 2

Part 2 of Warrin’ Priests was written by Pete Holmes and directed by Matthew Nastuk.

While Bode has won over most of Springfield, he finds one churchgoer he can’t sway in Ned Flanders. Meanwhile in Michigan, Reverend Lovejoy finds the ammunition he needs to get rid of his replacement.

Now that we’ve seen both parts of Warrin’ Priests, all I can say is….good but not great.

Like I said last week with part 1, there was no real reason for this to be expanded into two parts, this felt like a story that could’ve been done in the regular 22 minute episode format and part 2 didn’t really do anything too grand or spectacular to convince me otherwise.

Now, with that said, this was not a bad episode nor was the last one, far from it, I overall really enjoyed both parts from the animation to the story to another solid Pete Holmes performance to the jokes but again, my main problem with the episode is that it doesn’t really constitute a two part episode, at least to me.
