LeBron James’ production company SpringHill Entertainment has entered into a partnership with Warner Bros. Could Space Jam 2 be far behind?
The Wall Street Journal has the report on the partnership, which is part of James’ plan to build an entertainment business and comes on the heels of the basketball star’s appearance in the Amy Schumer film Trainwreck.
James has said in the past that he would like to make a sequel to the 1996 Space Jam, which starred Michael Jordan and the Warner Bros. Looney Tunes characters. In 2014, word surfaced that Space Jam 2 was in development for James, though his camp subsequently denied that report.
But now the deal between SpringHill and Warners has happened. And Alex Weprin of Capital New York points out that Warner Bros. filed new trademarks for Space Jam last month.
